Readings - Workshops - Concert
February 12-18, 2026
Emerging composers are encouraged to submit score(s) for S.E.M. Ensemble's annual readings - workshop - concert.
All proposals will be considered, including compositions not yet finished!
Composers are expected to attend readings of their pieces. Consulting with the conductor and musicians, they will have a chance to alter or further develop their composition. The workshop will conclude with a public performance on February 18 at Willow Place Auditorium, 26 Willow Place, Brooklyn Heights.
Presently, we will consider scores for ensembles of up to 7, 8 musicians. There may be a possibility for larger ensembles, depending on the results of grants that have not been yet determined. The use of electronics is possible. Preference will be given to works that have not been performed and have no scheduled premiere.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Please email or mail:
- One performance-ready copy of your score (recording not necessary)
- A short statement about your music (1 page or less).
- Short biography (include date of birth and the city / country you are based in)
- $40 processing fee (cash, check payable to S.E.M. Ensemble, Inc., or PayPal [pksem@semensemble.org] is acceptable)
